I'm going to have to go back and see what Paul's griping is about, because it looks fine to me. How thick is that aluminum plate under the engine? What holds the block to the mounting plate (oil pan screws only?)? Is the oil pan to be separate? Tom Kendall --------------------------------- Yes it does look nice, and mine will be shipping soon. For kicks, I'd be interested to hear what the all-knowing had to say about it, but nothing he said will stop me from using it. Here's a link for more info: http://conversionconcepts.com/ Fred has been great to deal with, and he's very responsive to email. The RV-3 mount he's making for me is a custom job, but it's pretty much the same price as the normal mounts. Since I had a Lycoming mount already, I sent it to him to use as a template to get the firewall bolts and gear legs in the right place. I also had new gear legs sent from Van's to his shop, and he's fitting them to the sockets for me. The mount is far more expensive than doing it yourself, but he does some good analysis of tubing size requirements, and of course is a great welder. I was pretty excited to find his business, and spare myself part of the "education and entertainment" that the FAA allows with experimental planes. Rusty Turbo 13B powered RV-3...
