Take a piece of solid aluminum and drill/tap it for 1/8" or 1/4" pipe thread. Then turn the O.D. down to fit into your heater hose, with a little barb on it. I have a similar adapter going into the water pump, from 3/4" to 1-1/2 " hose. No lathe ? Stumble along with your drill press and a grinder, or make a friend who has a lathe.
