Thomas, I am just now looking into building a tri-gear (Wittman type) for the BD4. Even though the gear is mounted on the engine mount you will still have to supply structure to the lower firewall where two additional hard points have been added. You will go from four hard points to six. I have the plans for how this is done in the Tailwind. The RV plans would be more applicable to the BD4 of course. I would like to see that page from the RV plans if anyone can share it. Regards, Jerry

Lynn, hold it there!!! # I understand the 3-rotor talk (right up my alley...!) # What is the difference between "early 13B" and "late(??) 13B"? # Outrageous!! That thing about mixing Lyc. and Cont.!! Like mixing Ford and GM!! Any website for this??? # I am planning/dreaming the Taildragger, but would like to look into Wittman/RV style gearmount - right into the engine-mount- On the 4-seater this might get a little hefty on the firewall-mounts, though... I think someone did this already, but can't find the details anymore... You remember anything about this? Thomas |
