Lynn,
what's the powerplant of choice for your BD-4?
And while we
are at it, TR or nose-wheel?

A three rotor if I could put one together cheap enough. Or, a lightly
boosted (normalized) Early 13B side port, or a Peripheral ported early 13B.
Or mix of Continental and Lycoming parts to get over 600 inches of lean of
peak performance. I met a guy who builds them for air boats in Florida. Regrinds
the cams also.
The safety wheel in the front please. My legs and mind are too slow for
tail dragging anymore.
The nose gear mounted to the engine mount makes more sense to me than
building up a structure in the middle of the firewall to take the loads. The
engine mount attach points are already the strongest part of the plane forward
of the spar anyway, and it has been done
successfully by others.
