Yep, went for the engine pod on the chance that I may like having the
engine info integrated with the rest of the glass cockpit screen. BMA is
possibly the only monitor that will allow me to parallel it to the EM2
sensors (I'll have one, of course : ) and calibrate properly.
If I can settle on the packaging, the DL1 (Data Logger 1) will be ready for
prime time and you won't have to fly with a camcorder. As Ed has mentioned
with his fuel flow instrument, this can be one of the thorniest problems in
product development.
Tracy (feeling really bummed for Bob W. Hope you feel up to the
task of repairing soon.)

Congrats to Mark S.
Thanks Tracy. I was beginning to think that you would be
done with the RV-8 before me. So, did you spring for the BMA engine
pod? I would be interested in hearing your first impressions. I'm
still contemplating on whether to go for the G4 upgrade.
Another
interesting tidbit from the first taxi. I was watching the temps real
close. It was a cool 70* day and the H2O temp finally got up to 139*,
oil was 182*. That puzzled me until I remembered that I instrumented the
oil temp both before and after the oil cooler. I was fixated on the one
before the cooler. I still don't know what the other oil temp reading
was. I'll try to be more alert to this next time. Maybe now would
be a good time to invest in a camcorder.
