Bob, about 20 years ago I totally destroyed my beloved Luscombe in an engine out accident. I was not hurt except in the pocket book. I thought it was over for me as far a flying was concerned. But, with a little more time, I found that the crash had not destroyed my desire to fly and eventually, I did get back into the air to add 300 more left seat hours to my life's resume. Jerry

I had a pretty bad bounce on landing and after the second bounce,
decided to go around. That was a mistake. I never got out from behind
the power curve and ended up doing a high power skid into the grass on
the south side of the runway. Both main wheels were torn off, the prop
disintegrated, an the fuselage is somewhat bent. After contacting the
ground, the plane did about 1/2 turn and skidded to a stop.
