Ed,

On a 13B for P-P,  you would not worry a lot about weight. Just convert it the way it is.
Caution, I believe you should wait for the first P-P to get some air time behind it before copying it.
Is Jerry going to be the first one?

Hey, Richard, 260HP for a "P" port two rotary 13B  would ..ah hem .. be  "acceptable".  So let us know when the two rotor "P" housing are ready {:>).

Have been running the one rotor on p-port for a while. Aiming for 115hp per rotor on 12A housings at 7500RPM(be happy with 100hp in the end). These estimates should give 150hp for 13B housings, more likely 130, making 260 for a 13B. I know this is worse than other p-port proponents predict, but this is what I am working toward. If more power (over stock) is the issue, p-port is the solution, also simplicity. I have not found any real negatives, for air craft use, in it.

Hey, all looking forward to your first flight in the 8, Rusty.  Fortunately on my trip to Louisiana and back I managed to find 100LL for $3.25, but saw it as high as $4.60.  Could be 75 cent /gallon different from two different vendors on the same airfield.  Certainly making me consider going back to Mogas since its down to $2.08/gallon around here.

So my viewpoint is anybody who wants to experiment with "P" ports should be encouraged to do so - we all learn from experimentation - but, its not necessary if your objective is producing 160-170 HP.

Couldn't agree more Ed.  I still find PPorts interesting, and have some used housings to play with, so it's definitely on my "one of these days" list of things I want to try.   If you're looking for a power level that can be reached by either PPorts or side ports, the side port road will be much easier to travel.

Cheers,
Rusty (DAR inspection 11th, first flight 12th or 18th, bankruptcy after filling up with 100LL)
