Hi Hans, Doug , Ed, anyone else,
looking at the Mazda dyno graphs,
All  RX8 engines are side port, the 4 port makes 200+ at 7000  right
out of the box, so you can easily get 170-180 at 6000 rpm.

So long as you start with the RX-8 engine, that may be true.

Here is some data from a strong running 12A from my GT-3 racer. This a bridgeported engine
of 2292cc displacement with a Weber carb and 38mm chokes.

There is no data below 6,500 as we don't go that low except leaving the pits.

6,500 RPM
139.6 foot pounds of torque.
HP 173.3
EGTs 1550-1491
BSFC .666
oil temp 162
oil pressure 99.9
A/F 12.3
Timing 25 BTDC

Best power 244.9 HP at 9,400 RPM

Each of the two 38mm holes feeds only one rotor housing. So are quite restrictive, and the 13B has the larger displacement, so you could do better HP wise.
