Thomas,  a 2 1/8" socket will work fine.  I also recommend borrowing (if you don't have one) a heavy duty impact wrench (the one I use has over 900 ft/lbs of torque) to get the flywheel nut off.  You can wrestle with it with a breaker bar and get it off, but a impact wrench makes it much easier.  Don't forget to loosen the front nut before breaking the flywheel nut loose.  I also use a piece of angle iron bolted to the bell housing mounting holes in the rear housing and oriented so the counterweight will wedge against it to keep the eccentric shaft from turning while you wrestle with the nut.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Flywheel nut

Hi all,
Does anyone know the size socket needed to remove the flywheel nut on a Renesis? 2 1/8 " measures tight. And where has anyone bought said socket?
Thomas Phy
Renesis finally in shop!
