Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: XR-40
This is the motor that I reported a year and a half ago. They also said
they were planning a 2 rotor 80 hp. Glad to see they have it on a plane. That
was in the works when I saw it. But that is about all the help I can offer.
they seem to be moving in the right direction.
Hi
Bob,
It's always
a good sign when one of these engines actually makes it into a flying
aircraft. With any luck, they'll proceed with their 2 rotor plans, and
get one of those on the market as well. I've been saying that the sport
pilot market is dying for a better 80-100 HP engine choice, so maybe
this will be it.
Since they
don't have an oil system, how are they cooling the rotors? Would this be
what I've seen referred to as "charge cooling"? As with all these new
engines, it will be good to start seeing some unbiased user
reports.
Cheers,
Rusty (what
am I doing in Florence, AL)
