The ceramic would need to be strengthen like concrete with some type of reinforcing running through it.  Stainless steel mesh wire and Stainless steel stand offs connected to the reinforcement just might just be the ticket.  It could be cast in several pieces and wired in place

I'm not suggesting to build an exhaust manifold out of it. I'm saying build a hollow casing in witch to run your exhaust pipes thru it keeping the radiant temp down. Might even be able to use aluminum as a "flashing" to support the ceramic if it needed it.
