For carbon steel in .120" wall it is one season. Maybe 10 hours total. And
the failure will be in the bend where the metal is stretched thinner than .120".
Now we wrap just the exterior of the large diameter muffler, and use shielding
elsewhere, and it seems not to have affected it in any way. Obviously, the
surface is running at a much higher temperature than unwrapped but the stainless
does that well.
