That is the oil level sensor.  see

The Mazda temp sender (at least on some enginess) is just forward of
the level sensor and smaller.  I put Tracy's temp sensor and pressure
sensor in one of the extra ports on my remote oil filter.  Bruce T
removes the stock oil filter pad.
