Hi David.

I use the plastic injector fuel diffusers under the injectors -but,  there are many who do not.  It appears that they are designed to provide  better atomization of the fuel by causing it to breakup in the middle of the airstream rather than splashing against the walls.  They also provide some insulation between the injector and the hot metal block.  On the other hand they get brittle and easily break when taking them out and they are NOT cheap if you have to purchase them.

I have heard a number of reports that the stock Mazda pulsation damper (located on fuel rail) has leaked in automobiles and even resulted in fires.  It appears not a question of IF but WHEN it will leak.  I have not heard a similar problem with the stock fuel pressure regulator.  About the only down side I can think of is that the stock pressure regulator it is not adjustable - and that is not a problem if your pumps are putting out the required pressure using one.  I personally do not use it.

Best Regards

Ed

Subject: [FlyRotary] 13B fuel inj. deverters?

Looking for info on fuel inj. deverters used under each injector by Mazda, are we reusing  or removing?   Am finishing last retainer brackets for secondary fuel rail.  Is the Mazda fuel pres. reg. being used or upgraded?   Is on ready to go but, I thought I read some where , they were not up to the task or borderline accurate?  Thanks,  David,  RV6A Rotary.
