Hi David.

I use the plastic injector fuel diffusers = under the=20 injectors -but,  there are many who do not.  It appears that = they are=20 designed to provide  better atomization of the fuel by causing it = to=20 breakup in the middle of the airstream rather than splashing against the = walls.  They also provide some insulation between the injector and = the hot=20 metal block.  On the other hand they get brittle and easily break = when=20 taking them out and they are NOT cheap if you have to purchase=20 them.

I have heard a number of reports that the stock = Mazda=20 pulsation damper (located on fuel rail) has leaked in automobiles and = even=20 resulted in fires.  It appears not a question of IF but WHEN it = will=20 leak.  I have not heard a similar problem with the stock fuel = pressure=20 regulator.  About the only down side I can think of is that the = stock=20 pressure regulator it is not adjustable - and that is not a problem if = your=20 pumps are putting out the required pressure using one.  I = personally do not=20 use it.
