Bright metal surface, or reading to large an area will give incorrect readings. Al Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: water temp location The gun belongs to my hangar neighbor. He is an electronics engineer (another one. i'm gona puke :)). First he calibrated the gun. Than he pointed it to the area closest to the temp sensor by the oil pressure sensor. The temp reading was same as the EM2 water temp reading. Than he moved to the pump outlet, thin wall 1.5" aluminum tube. the reading was lower. I could not believe it so we did it again.
