Hi David,
My preference is no thermostat. I'm using the NGK BUR7EQ for leading,
and BUR9EQ for trailing and plan on replacing them every 20-25 hours
using 100 LL. Sooner if conditions (SAG) warrant. You might want to
try the D585 coils. They cost more, have a heat sink on the back, and
may handle the heat better. I think Tracy has tried them after a
couple of D581's failed.
BTW, I have the 4 pin connectors for both coil types. The D580 uses the
larger one, and the D581 and D585 use the smaller one. I just haven't
gotten around to putting the smaller one in the catalog. Same price.

Now I have a question; what is the latest & greatest spark plugs being used in the 13B GM coils no turbo, and is anyone useing a thermostat or just weld over the bypass hole & forget the idea, I can still try it at this point but have to decide soon things are happening fast? I don't even get to read mail on time, just cleaned up 185 e-mails, you guys talk a lot. (keep it up) thanks, David.
