Bobby,  I have used the microair probes without the weld-on boss since 1997 with no problems.   So I don't believe the weld-on boss is necessary for NA 13B use.

Buly,

Did the Microair probes come with the weld on boss? If not, do you remember what size threads?

Thanks,

Bobby

John, I have installed one Microair probe for each rotor. Got them from Aircraft Spruce. Adjustable for depth, cost about $25-26 each and guaranteed for life?

Before all this discussion on lag and lead, I hadn't given much thought to monitoring the EGT.  But it looks like it is time to order up the probes and the instrument.  If something is happening, it needs to monitored.  Thanks for all the heads up information.  JohnD
