Yup.  That's right.  If there's a single point of failure, the odds of a catastrophe are the same as the odds of that single component failing.  If it takes "a whole bunch" of failures strung together to cause a catastrophe, the odds of it happening are the product of the odds of all the individual pieces multiplied together.   I was doing the math.  IIRC the original post said something like "... no flags, no warnings, no nothing ..."

Amazing that an all-electric airplane would have a single point of 
failure in the electrical system.
