although if you are going to stick injectors into the primary injector holes in the block, are sort of stuck with Mazda (or similar).

I've had good luck with "MSD" injectors, which are actually made by Rochester.  Summit Racing sells them in various sizes, for about $50 each.  TWM sells fuel rails, which are easy to modify into whatever you need for your application.  Since George is a devoted PP kinda guy, he won't have to worry about fitting the stock holes in the housing. 
 
The MSD injector is a little smaller on the engine end, and a little larger on the fuel rail end, compared to the stock Mazda injectors.  I was able to bore out a stock cast aluminum Mazda fuel rail, and then made a sleeve to fill the gap on the engine side.  This worked very well, and it was nice to avoid the old injector blues.
