Hi Dave,

I presume this is a speed only contest, correct?  If that's the case, I won't be able to help at the moment.  I didn't see any speeds listed in the posts you attached.  What is the current bragging rights figure?

Cheers,
Rusty (waiting for the climb contest)

Actually, this is more of a fuel burn comparison, although most people will be interested in speed as well.  Dan has a pretty fast RV-7 claiming 187 KTAS at 8,000.  On one particular day with the stock turbo I was able to get 189 KTAS but can't do that right now because of my surge problem.  Robert was recently flying with Dan and was slightly edging out Dan at 7,000 ft.  That is what started this whole thing.  I think you should be able to out climb them in your RV-3.

Robert is pulling up to 50"MAP in his supercharged Eggenfelner Subaru with a MT electric prop. and seems to have the advantage above 7000' but not so much down low.  Depending on when this happens, I may be back in the running, especially after I install my ported engine. (not to mention get my drive parts back from Tracy.
