Did you make your own engine mount?

/Yes, I made the mount.  I used .5" 2024 plate sandwiched between the oil pan and the engine to make the attach points for the bed mount.
Check the archives and Paul Lamar's ACRE site for discussions concerning the use of industrial vibration dampers at the attach points./

I looked around a bit, but I didn't find anything about a problem with industrial mounts.

The possible difficulties with using "industrial" mounts might be:

1) Not failsafe. The isolator comes completely apart if the rubber fails.
2) Not rated for the engine compartment temperature.
3) Side load rating inadequate.

I would think that if you avoid these pitfalls, the selection of the mounts should be routine. What am I missing?
