A risky way is sometimes starting the engine will provide enough suction to get things started - but, naturally be prepared to shut it down immediately if oil pressure does not come up. If you do and it does that points to an air leak in my opinion. In my book Halomar is OK for the coolant "O" rings as it more or less just holds them in place and does not do much in the way of sealing. I always use Ultragray or similar for oil pan but only use the gasket for the pickup mount.
