John;

Four 550’s ought to get you over 300 hp with fuel pressure of 43 psi.

Subject: [FlyRotary] going lean?

Chrissi (building rotary Cozy IV) just sent me an email that has me wondering.

She suggested that I might be going lean at high power because I'm running 4 * 550 injectors instead of the stock 2 * 550 and 2 * 850. I hit a "brick wall" in the power curve at a certain rpm beyond which I get a "stutter" feeling which listeners on the ground report as a "popping" sound. I've been thinking this is the edge of detonation and avoiding it. Maybe it is, but perhaps it's because the injectors have topped out rather than because of excess boost.

Thoughts, anyone?

Anyone have a couple of 850 injectors I can try?

John (I need more power, Scotty)
