Today's test is an alternate = approach that uses the EM2 to monitor mixture and calculate MAP table = corrections. It then sends the corrections over the serial data link to = the EC2.=20 The good news is that this approach will allow current EC2s to auto = program if it is connected to an EM2 with the new feature. Old EM2s = will be upgradeable to auto program. Conceptually, auto programming was fairly easy to do. The hard part = was making it relatively goof-proof. Some of the aftermarket automotive = EFI units have an auto program mode but Bruce Turrentine found that they = were so error prone as to be unusable. Experienced help was almost = always needed to set them up correctly.
