Jim,
I was researching this myself just today. I did a wiki search (fuel filter, fuel system) and turned up some good info and some not so good info. I am using dual GM fuel filters on my 3-rotor installation and they do require a Saginaw to AN-6 adapter. A regular metric fitting doesn't have the o-ring on end, which is required when using the GM filters. Using fuel system sealer may work, but will most likely leak, sooner or later. The male Saginaw fitting has an o-ring that seats against a flat in the bottom of the female fuel filter fitting. Just trying to keep you from ordering the wrong part. Sorry, I don't remember where I bought my Saginaw to AN6 fittings. I bet Ed remembers.

Hi Jim,
Go to the Wiki and search for fuel filter
http://www.rotarywiki.org
That's what it's for is to keep whatever you need to remember in a more
convenient place. :)
