I am noticing something in the past several weeks where more and more
posters are using the "Reply to All" feature when responding to
FlyRotary mailings.

Hi Dave.

Guess what, it's just you :-)   When I replied (not reply all)  to a message earlier today, I noticed that your address came up along with the list address.  I just figured you set it up that way on purpose for some reason.  On this reply, and the previous one, I manually deleted your direct email address from the list.

I don't begin to understand all this.  On some lists that I've been on, I can "reply" and get just the list address, or "reply all" as you assumed to get the list, and the direct email.  I asked Marvin about this a while back, because I wanted that feature, but he said (if I understood him correctly), that this was a function of how you set your email program up, and not a function of his list software.

There is certainly a difference in how email programs work, and frankly, that's why I hate plain text so much.  Outlook just doesn't play well with it, but I need Outlook for my PDA functions.  Other programs don't like HTML, or implement it differently.  There are differences in how attachments are handled.  Every time Paul Conner posts, we get some sort of attachment that says there's no virus.  In the old days, email was simple, everyone was on dial up, and you didn't need to run virus scanners and such.

This email inconstancy is reason number 473 why I think web forums are so vastly superior to mail lists in this day and age.  Unfortunately, I've mentioned this to Marvin, and happen to know that he's 100% against changing.  This is frustrating to me, but life goes on.

Cheers,
Rusty (stepping off the soapbox now)
