Hi Rusty;
Apparently on a NA engine they connect to the intake vacuum, just below the
throttle body. This is not what I would expect, but as you describe on the
turbo is exactly what I would expect.
I had a couple of off-line replies that indicated that Atkins only uses the
nozzles in the rotor housings and that he just has the tip of the nozzles
capped off. A picture on his website confirms this, so today I phoned him to
confirm that he is still doing it this way. He is, however he said that the
rubber caps can come off and any oil leaking past the internal check valve
makes a heck of a mess, so he has changed the nozzles to a regular banjo
bolt, since the orifice is located in the housings. (the secondary nozzles
have the orifice built in). He is sending me a set of these.
I modified the linkage from the oil metering pump arm (yeah, I know it's
not actually a pump) to the throttle linkage to fit my system, and it
operates the metering pump from 1/3 to 2/3 open. Dave says his is wired
half open, with no problems, so mine should be better than fine.
