I guess I need to add in my 2bits to this one, since I seem to be the only one flying one of these with the electronic CS governor.
    First I'm glad that others have corrected erroneous report that indicated that IVO was at fault for the tragic deaths of a family. IVO provides a detailed procedure for torqueing of the blades accompanied by all the dire warnings as to the consequences of failing to do so. They also refuse to sell props for use with Lycs, but wholeheartedly endorse the rotary. Reports of this incident indicate that the procedure wasn't followed on an engine that it wasn't to be used on.
    I find that the electronic CS governor works well, but is quite slow compared to a hydraulic CS prop and it has a somewhat limited range of about 1500 rpm. My climb performance is outstanding, and it is good up to ~135mph after which it seems to take a disproportionate amount of power to reach the brick wall at 180mph.
    However IVO now offers a variety of blades and I feel that there may be better performance to be had. I'm flying with the regular pitch (30"-90") X 76" 3-blade prop. I bought this from a former lister, knowing that it may not be ideal, but that it would get me flying. I would like to try their deep pitch version of this prop and I may need to trim the length somewhat, but other commitments will delay this for awhile. They also make a paddle blade as well.
    A good report on testing with the deep pitch and paddle blades can be seen here;

This is a fuel injection company out of Calgary that has built a RV-6A and is experimenting with the IVO prop. When I get a little time I'd like to fly over to Calgary and talk with this guy about it.

    As the Velocity is a high speed aircraft, I doubt that you'd be happy with the regular (30"-90") prop and should only consider the deep pitch (45"-105") prop. As others have mentioned, the relatively flat root of the blade may be less of an issue with a pusher prop.

Cheers....

Todd

Does anyone have any experience or opinions using an IVO Magnum Inflight Adjustable prop with a rotary?  I am considering the IVO for use with my Velocity / Renesis and would appreciate any coments.

Thanks,
Joe
