Rusty, I presume your hangar arrangement calls for liability insurance.  Some 
of the companies that won't go Hull insurance for an Auto Powered experimental 
aircraft, will insure for just the liability portion.  Have you tried getting 
just Liability insurance?  Might be enough to keep you in the hangar.
