Its ringed with teeth for the starter, and it has holes that MAY be useable for mounting... but I am not sure if the "flex plate" is in fact the auto flywheel? or something I need to remove from the weight when attaching a new flywheel (that has yet to be bought).. =20 As others have said, you need both, so you scored by getting the plate = along with the weight. Aside from being used for the starter, those mounting holes are normally used to bolt on the torque converter of the auto = trans. Tracy uses them to bolt on his dampener plate, which is what actually = drives the shaft of the redrive.
