I am also looking at making some kind of mount on centerline just under the rudder bars on my 9A to mount my EC2 (large print edition).  Do I need to make some kind of blast tube provision for cooling? I have also given some thought to mounting it behind one of the seat backs, which would still fall well within the 10 feet that you just mentioned. That should also be a cooler area if shaded from the sun.

John,
There is no reasonable limitation on length of wires from EC2 to coils.  Are you interpreting the instructions as saying there is?
Anything less than 10 feet should be no problem.

Tracy;  I started to read the directions on the controller location and
discovered that I need to mount the controller nearly 36 inches from the
coils to get past the fuel tank to a place behind the panel.  If this is
excessive I'll have to look into a counsel of sorts between the rudder
pedals which might save 12 inches.  Originally I considered mounting on the
firewall, behind a heat shield with a scat tube for cooling.  It now appears
that this not an option.  Thank you for any comments.  JohnD
