Ed, that prop is simply a = monster. (I=20 clearly have prop envy).   The fact that you fly with it is = a=20 testimate that you must be making more power than the typical=20 O-360.

Dave (feeling really impotent = without my=20 turbo) Leonard

Well, Dave,  I sort of hesitate to make = any such=20 claim without dyno data - however, my fuel flow indication on = take off=20 (17+ GPH) and my improved ROC (1800 fpm)  for my overweight = beauty=20 indicates I could possibly be making in the vicinity of 190+=20 HP.

I took off at a gross weight of 1783 lbs this = week ,17 lbs=20 short of my maximum permissible.  Rate of climb at that weight = was 1200=20 fpm, so weight does indeed affect ROC {:>), but still more than=20 adequate.  Yes, I do burn off fuel to get within Van's recommend=20 limitations before landing.

It is interesting in that folks at = airports I had=20 flown into previously with my smaller prop have noticed and commented = on the=20 "Monster" prop.  It is 8" longer and appears to stick out much = further=20 beyond the cowl.  So I am probably getting better prop = efficiency. =20 Being able to turn a bit more rpm increases the HP as well.
