I sell gear pumps on my web site and have tested them on our bench. Even the 3 gpm = pump uses about 5A minimum without load. Our 6 GPM pump is rated 15A 12V. Somehow you are getting free lunch :) =20 Seems it was just one of those Canadian practical jokes. Probably a few = too many mooseheads when he first measured it :-) I'm glad Todd spoke up, because those numbers did seem kinda low.
