Well, finished all the modifications necessary to mount Tracy's RD-1B to my Plugs Up engine, finished mounting and hooking up everything today and fired her up. Runs great, prop swings and could be my imagination, but the gear box seems quiter and smoother. Having taken the RD-1B completely apart in order to have it nickle coated, I am even more impressed with Tracy's design than I was before. It is one solid gear assembly with two oil float bearings and two thrust bearings. I'll post a photo of the mounted unit tomorrow..
